  2. Term One Project Reflection

    April 29, 2013 by jessclassroom

To help shape your reflection on you first large project for the year (A World of Difference) use the following headings:

    • Make a list of the most important things you learnt.
    • What can you do now that you couldn’t do before?
    • What or who helped me?

Write at least a paragraph on each. Remember we’re interested not so much on what you learnt about the country you investigated (this was in your presentation and word document) but in the researchwriting andpresentation skills you developed. Check out Edna’s example from her 2011 term 3 project (

    Next add the following:

    • facts about the country you researched. Focus on the key ones that have stayed with you.
    • understandings. There is a difference between facts andunderstandings, if you are unsure talk to Jess, Bronwyn or Lee. These understandings can be about the country you wrote your report on, its relationship to other countries or how it compares to Australia
    • wondering. A wondering is a deep question, again talk to Jess, Bronwyn or Lee

Finally remember as you reflect on the learning involved in researching, creating and presenting your project ask yourself:

    • “What did I learn?”
    • “How did I learn it?”
    • “What am I going to do with what I learnt?”
